ABATE is a motorcyclists rights organization dedicated to preserving the riders freedom of choice and freedom of the road, education and safety. Our members are active in public awareness programs, motorcycle safety programs and in supporting all types of charity events.

The Northwest Suburban Chapter of ABATE of IL covers suburban Cook County as well as parts of Lake and Mc Henry..

The vote on October 25 will give you the Roll Call vote for the House and the Senate Roll Call vote today, Nov. 10th which was 45 Yeas, 6 Nays, 8 Not Voting. Some legislators were off the floor (Senator Althoff had a death in her family) when the vote was taken. We had another 5 votes if all would have been there. This was a major victory for you. We Flexed our Muscles.

This privilege will not start until Jan.1, 2012.
SB2528 is a Trailer Bill filled on this bill for a 120 second wait for when the traffic light doesn't sense you.

I highly suggest that when Jan 1, 2012 arrives that everyone do the 120sec wait on those Traffic Lights that don't work so as to get in the habit. I also Highly Recommend that we don't abuse and take advantage of this privilege. Use it only when it is legal to do so. Please tell all your friends and all other bikers to respect what we have been given.

This privilege can be taken away even quicker than getting it.We must not have a spike in accidents, injuries and fatalities so that the Nay Sayers like the Governor, IDOT, and the ISP don't say "I Told You So" to the General Assembly I am sure there will some tickets issued till all law inforcement offices have the correct info but they will be thrown out. If you use this law and proceed in a reckless manner you are subject to a reckless driving ticket so use it wisely. Thank You to all that helped to make this change in our laws and also to Todd Vandermyde and his magic mind.
